The mission of the manufacturing group is to advance the science, education, and societal benefits of manufacturing. We conduct world-leading research into making transformative discoveries using cleaner, leaner, and smarter production processes and systems. Our undergraduate concentration and graduate programs couple the fundamentals of manufacturing science with socially engaged, environmentally conscious design and the latest advances in manufacturing processes, and data analytics. Our students are empowered to innovate, analyze, control, and manage modern manufacturing machines and operations that make better-performing products serving the common good.
